Monolithic Media Manipulation

Today in class we watched a documentary that shows how controlled the US media is in the Mideast. It stressed the importance of pictures and video in the context of propaganda. These weapons of mass confusion are disseminated through channels of mass diffusion.

If the Government does not want an image shown to the general public, then it is censored. Take the photo below, which shows America's #1 enemy to be working for NASA:



















Photos like these are dealt with in two ways. They are either supressed (notice how you don't see this picture in the news) or discredited (People claim that the picture is Photoshopped, as if Osama somehow has access to Photoshop while on the moon).
