As we can see here, the American Hollywood Propaganda machine consistently propagates a negative portrayal of the Arab people. It’s not enough that they are the bad Arabs, they are the Reel Bad Arabs. The most convenient media scapegoat since the Soviets? You be the judge.
Even in Aladdin, Bruce Adler sings that the mideast is "Barbaric, but hey, it's home." Aladdin was accused by a minority of critics of being racist. The characters in Aladdin weren't based on actual Arabs, they were based on shapes:
